REPRESENTATION OF THE VIU-NED CHAIR AT THE “2022 ANNUAL MEETING OF THE SECTION ON PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGICAL SURGERY”
Next Thursday 1st December, Dr Jose Piquer Belloch, Head of Neurosurgery and co-director of the VIU-NED Chair and Dr Ruben Rodriguez Mena, neurosurgeon and member of the joint committee of the Chair, have been invited as speakers at the “2022 Annual Meeting of the Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery” organised by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
This year’s event will consist of four days (1-4 December) held in person in Washington DC and there will also be a virtual format.
During their presentation, both will present the concepts and needs that revolve around Paediatric Neurosurgery with special emphasis on Global Surgery.
They will also present some real examples from the clinical care work that both of them and their team carry out in low-income countries such as Zanzibar (Tanzania), where the NED Foundation created the Mnazi Mmoja NED Institute, which is currently the reference centre for the most complex paediatric neurosurgery.
