PRACTICAL TRAINING IN NURSING: SUTURE AND WOUND CARE COURSE

Millions of patients with traumatic lacerations are not treated annually in East Africa.

Since these wounds are not usually a threat to the patient’s life, they are considered less priority than other complications. Consequently, treatment of wounded patients is often delayed, bacteria can proliferate causing infection and sepsis, in many cases causing the death of the patient, mostly children.

In this sense, the training of nursing personnel in safe conditions can eliminate this delay and its consequences.

With our project it is intended that the nursing staff and the nursing students receive the necessary training for the treatment of traumatic wounds.

After completing the course, nurses are able to offer quality care regardless of the type of hospital in which they work.
