First trip to Africa: we discovered the continent’s needs.


Design of the project “Mobile Neuroendoscopy in East Africa for Children Hydrocephalus”

We celebrated the first Hands-on about Neuroendoscopy (Nairobi, 2006)

We initiated our missions for the Endoscopic treatment of Hydrocephalus.

It took place the IV International Course of Neuroanatomy for nurses in Alzira (Valencia). NED financed the attendance of 4 nurses from Kenya.


The Neuroendoscopy instruction extended over Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia…

Hands-on about Neuroendoscopy were held by much of East African countries.

NED Nursery project initiated and we organized the first suture course (Nairobi University).

A lot of children began to benefit of neuroendoscopic treatment.


We constituted ourselves as a Foundation: NED is created in an official way.

Our first “NED” volunteers travel to Kenya and Tanzania.

Part of SENEC-2008 Conference (Valencia) benefits are destinated to Foundation projects.

NED Neurointensive project is initiated.

Donation of a portable neuroendoscope: Dr. Paul Young

We visited for the first time the Mnazi Mmoja Hospital of Zanzibar (Tanzania) and we initiated the project to develop the Neurosurgery on the Unguya Isle.

We continued doing endoscopic surgeries and keep organizing Hands-on for neurosurgeons and nursery personnel.


We released our Web page and we began our path through Facebook social media.

Our friends went beyond 90 members.

We celebrated the first Hands-on: Brian Anatomical Disecction en Nairobi.

Agreement signed with the Mnazi Mmoja Hospital (Zanzibar, Tanzania).

Surgery equipment dotation: Hospital Mnazi Mmoja.

NED Traumatology organized their first mission.

We were recieved by the Zanzibar President.

NED missions in Africa kept growing.

We went across the pond and visited South America for the first time: Peru (Lima). Daniel Carrión Hospital.

First donation of a portable neuroendoscope as a foundation.


11 humanitarian missions were organized during this year displacing 47 volunteers. Se constituyen 11 misiones humanitarias durante el año desplazando a 47 voluntarios.

We visited Sudan for the first time. We donated a portable neuroendoscope.

The area of NED non-Medical Projects was born in the Forodhani Orphanage.

NED Radiology organized a mission for the first time.

Pemba was visited and the Isle’s needs were analyzed.

The 1st NED-container was sent.

It was organized the first no sanitary NED mission and we were received by Zanzibar first lady.

NED was welcomed by Spain Ambassador in Tanzania.

We celebrated NED Charitable Dinner at the MUVIM (Valencia) and the first Solidary SOKO.

We celebrated a charitable course about Exoscopia and Neuroanatomy for nurses. We finance trips for two Coast General Hospital nurses.

The first NED-ORL mission (Otorhinolaryngology) took place at the MOI Teaching & Referral Hospital (Eldoret, Kenya).

We reached an agreement to begin the development of the Neurosurgery in Mombasa (Coast General Hospital). The first mission was organised.

The International Congress about Neurosurgery in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) was celebrated, NED was the sponsor and it was hosted by Tanzania’s President and the II Brain Anatomical Disection Hands-on in Africa.

NED volunteers visited Mnazi Mmoja Hospital (Zanzibar) and Coast General Hospital (Mombasa) every month.

The 2nd NED-container was sent.

II no sanitary mission at the Mazizini Orphanage (Zanzibar).

First NED-Internal Medical Care mission.

First Gynecological mission. NED Gynecology was born.

We celebrated a “Special Neurosurgical Day” in the Nyeri Hospital: using 3 theatres at the same time, 17 patients underwent surgery only in one day.

We organised the first neurosurgery-gynecology sanitary mission in Pemba (Chake Chake Hospital).

NED friends went beyond the number of 250 in the webpage and of 400 on Facebook.


They have been organised and carried out 14 missions (3 of them non-sanitarian) this year; in addition of Neurosurgery ones, other specialties had bet on our projects: Intensive, Traumatology, Pediatrics, Gynecology, … A total of 78 volunteers have moved in 2012.

NED volunteers have visited every month the following Hospitals: Mnazi Mmoja (Zanzibar, Tanzania) and Coast General (Mombasa, Kenya). NED Gynecology has worked in Chake-Chake Hospital and Wete in Pemba Isle (Tanzania).

The first Mission composed entirely of non-Spanish volunteers travels to Zanzibar.

I NED Charitable Concert at the Palau dela Musica of Valencia.

The Foundation is chosen as a beneficiary of two annual dinner: Rotary Club Valencia Feria Mediterráneo and Uría-Menéndez Abogados. The resulting donations were intended to “NED Surgical Institute”.

We organised the II CHARITABLE SOKO NED in Rocafort (Valencia)

During the VI non-Medical Mission in Zanzibar, we made contact with a nearby village (Sebleni) where our partnership was requested and we studied the possibility of creating workshops.

NED friends went beyond the number of 300 in the Webpage and of 600 on Facebook.


They have been organised and carried out 12 missions (3 of them non-sanitarian) this year; specialties who bet on our projects last year, have consolidated their position in them, both in carrying out specialized missions (Gynecology) and volunteer participation in other specialties (Neurosurgery, Intensive, Traumatology, Pediatrics…)

A total of 68 volunteers have been displaced during 2013.

NED’s volunteers have visited Mnazi Mmoja Hospital (Zanzibar, Tanzania) virtually every month. NED Gynecology has worked at the following hospitals: Chake-Chake and Wete in  NED Ginecología ha trabajado en los hospitales: Chake-Chake y Wete in Pemba Isle (Tanzania).

Begins the construction of the II and III Building Phase that will house “Mnazi Mmoja –NED Surgical Institute”

We celebrated the 2nd NED Charitable Dinner in Espai Cultural la Rambleta (Valencia), which was a great succes as in call as in good atmosphere.

We announce the creation of the Stundentship for Nursery “Tony Gómez”

We organised the III NED’S CHARITABLE SOKO in Valencia.

We are more than 350 NED friends in the Webpage and we reach almost 800 on Facebook.
