VISIT TO OTHER HOSPITALS – JANUARY 2010

During our mission to Zanzibar in January 2010, we were also able to visit two smaller district hospitals in the north (Kivunge) and the south of the island (Makunduchi Hospital).

After learning about their needs, we hope to find NED volunteers for pediatrics, gynecology, trauma, general surgery, internal medicine, and radiology.

Our project is to go there regularly to offer these services close to their homes and always with the logistical support of the Mnazi Mmoja Hospital.

It was, as always, an intense and fruitful journey. Although the lack of energy and fuel was a setback for many, our aspiration to develop neurosurgery and other services was reinforced after seeing the reaction of people to so many difficulties.
