The directors of the VIU-NED Chair of Global Neuroscience and Social Change, Dr Jose Piquer and Dr Maria Jose Garcia-Rubio, establish synergies between their lines and research groups for the preparation of an informative article published by the platform The Conversation.

This is an article with great social impact since it shows the need for health care that child patients with a diagnosis of Hydrocephalus have in low-income countries such as Africa.

Through this article, the members of the Chair intend to highlight the lack of studies on neuropsychological defects (motor, sensory, cognitive) associated with this condition and, importantly, raise awareness in the general population about this gap in research and what this means in the quality of life of children with this diagnosis.

Likewise, it is expected that reading the article will awaken the interest of professionals dedicated to any of the branches of Neuroscience.
