Chair VIU-NED

of Global Neuroscience and Social Change

We want to put advances in neuroscience at the service of social change. That is why, together with the International University of Valencia (VIU), we have created the Chair of Global Neuroscience and Social Change.

The main aim of the Chair is to promote teaching, research and dissemination in the field of neuroscience and social change through a range of initiatives: courses, fellowships, awards, conferences and publications.

The Chair will prioritise initiatives that contribute to the development of the vision proposed by the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery (Global Surgery 2030): that all people should have access to safe, high quality surgical and anaesthetic care when they need it.

The Chair aims to contribute to this vision by promoting the development of neurosurgery – the surgical specialty par excellence of the neurosciences – as a facilitator for the development of other specialties.
