Millions of patients with traumatic lacerations are not treated annually in East Africa. Since these wounds are not usually a threat to the patient’s life, they are considered less priority than other complications. Consequently, treatment of wounded patients is often delayed, bacteria can proliferate causing infection and sepsis, in many cases causing the death of the patient, mostly children.
